- We used a US E-4 (3.5mm) crochet hook.
- #4 medium/ worst weight yarn – Red, Tan (Sand) and White
- Yarn needle
- Safety eyes
- Polyfill stuffing, yarn scraps or miscellaneous stuffing

Let’s Start on Our Crochet Crab!
Crab Body
Round 1: With the red yarn, start by making a magic ring and crochet 6 sc into the ring.
Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch of magic ring (12 total stitches).
Round 3: *1 sc, 2 sc in stitch* (18 total stitches).
Round 4: *2 sc, 2 sc in stitch*(24 total stitches).
Round 5: *3 sc, 2 sc in stitch* (30 total stitches).
Round 6: *4 sc, 2 sc in stitch* (36 total stitches).
Round 7: *5 sc, 2 sc in stitch* (42 total stitches).
Round 8: *6 sc, 2 sc in stitch*(48 total stitches).
Round 9: *15 sc, 2 sc in stitch* (51 total stitches).
Round 10: *16 sc, 2 sc in stitch*(54 total stitches).
Round 11: *17 sc, 2 sc in stitch*(57 total stitches).

Change to your tan yarn

Eyes
Part 1 – using tan
Round 1: 7 sc in magic ring
Rounds 2 through 4: 7 sc
Cut yarn and leave a long tail for sewing!
Part 2 – switch to your white yarn
Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring
Round 2: *2 sc in each stitch* (12 total stitches).
Round 3: *1 sc, 2 sc in stitch* (18 total stitches).
Rounds 4 through 6: 18 sc
Add safety eyes and start stuffing.
Round 7: *1 sc, sc dec* (12 total stitches).
Round 8: *sc dec* (6 total stitches).
Cut yarn and leave a long tail for sewing!
Onto the Pincers
We’re going to make two pincers.
Part 1
Round 1: 4 sc in a magic ring
Round 2: *2 sc in stitch* (8 total stitches).
Round 3: *3 sc, 2 sc in stitch* (10 total stitches).
Round 4: *4 sc, 2 sc in stitch* (12 total stitches).
Round 5: *5 sc, 2 sc in stitch* (14 total stitches).
Round 6: *6 sc, 2 sc in stitch* (16 total stitches).
Round 7: (2 sc, 2 sc in stitch , 2 sc, 2 sc in stitch , 1 sc, 2 sc in stitch) x2 (22 total stitches).
Round 8: 22 sc
Round 9: (1 sc, sc dec, 1 sc, sc dec, 1 sc, sc dec, sc dec) x2 (14 total stitches).
Round 10: 2 sc, 6 sc dec (8 total stitches).
Rounds 11 through 19: 8 sc
Cut and leave a long tail for sewing to body!
Part 2 (make two)
Round 1: 4 sc in a magic ring
Round 2: (1 sc, 2 sc in stitch ) x2 (6 total stitches).
Round 3: (2 sc, 2 sc in stitch ) x2 (8 total stitches).
Round 4: (3s c, 2 sc in stitch ) x2 (10 total stitches).
Join by sewing to “Part 1” between rounds 7-10.
Legs, legs and more legs
We’re going to make eight.
Round 1: 8 sc in a magic ring
Rounds 2 through 11: 8 sc
Cut leaving a long tail to sew to the body.
Let’s put it all together
First start by sewing eyes on the upper front part of the body (rounds 6 through 8). Next sew pincers in the middle sides of the body one round before the last red round (rounds 11 through 14).
Leave a round after the color change for the legs (round 15 through 18). Sew the first leg to match the pincer. Next, put the second, third and fourth legs to the right, left and right of the first leg. Lastly, do the same on the other side with the last four legs.
